ROME - LA DOLCE VITA 1950-1960

AUTUMN 2010 IN ROME The Fifties was the era of “Cafè-Society”, a time of colourful characters and habits which were brought to film screens by the Late Great Italian Director Federico Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita”; a movie star-struck age daily packed with gossip, style and beautiful women. The Mercati di Traiano Exhibition until 14 November 2010 is taking us through a nostalgic collection of 100 photographs, especially selected by the “Archivio Luce” film and photography archives, and 100 magazines from the Fifties. The pictures here tell the stories of a galaxy of well-known high-society faces of the day who captured the imagination of Italians.
