An itinerary on the trail of Gladiators, Emperors taking in the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Capitoline Hill.
Travel back in time to live the past grandeur of the Roman Empire, its tragedies and love for entertainment, and also discover some of its famous citizens, such as Julius Caesar, Emperors Augustus and Nero.
We will walk through the monumental ruins and imposing buildings to understand the politics, religion and organization of ancient Rome.
The itinerary will begin at the Capitoline Hill to admire the square designed by Michelangelo. Then proceed into the Roman Forum, the centre of the ancient city -- a square that held markets and law courts, temples and administrative buildings; here was where Vestal Virgins tended their flame and where criminals were put to trial, where senators debated laws and where servants met to gossip. Some of our highlights will be the Arch of Titus (built to commemorate the Jewish war and the destruction of the Temple of Jerusalem), the Temple of the Vestal Virgins, the Senate House, the Temple of Julius Caesar (built on the area where Caesar’s body was cremated and Mark Anthony made his famous speach).
There you will marvel at the ancient ruins of the temples and Basilicas.
This fascinating visit will continue inside the glorious Colosseum to get the feeling of the past and finish by the ruins of the gladiators' school and Nero’s golden house, the Domus Aurea.
